We're not drooling, you're drooling.

At this point, we can comfortably admit that we don't visit our local fair for the rides or carnival games you're destined to lose every single time. We're there for the food, plain and simple. And fair food has seriously leveled up in recent years. Goodbye, popcorn. Hello, fried avocado bites! Ice cream cones? Sorry, we left you in 2015 for decadent fried lemonade.

And in 2022, fair food is continuing to impress. Bacon wrapped in cotton candy seems to be the latest carnival-inspired treat to go viral. The sweet-meets-savory bite appears to have been first introduced to social media via Instagram user @stalekracker_official in April of this year.

"Yep! That's just bacon on a stick. We about to do a game changer. Looky here, looky here... Cotton candy and bacon on a stick," said the Instagram user while twirling a stick of bacon into a cotton candy machine.

The treat was made for the Hogs for the Cause fundraising event that took place in early April in New Orleans, Louisiana, and benefitted local children's hospitals. There's still a chance you can get your hands on your own bacon-y confection if you just know where to look.

If you're willing to travel for this treat, you can start at Abreo in Rockford, Illinois. As was reported by local radio station WZOK, the restaurant recently served cotton candy wrapped around bacon, so if luck is on your side you might find it there.

Your local state fair is still another great place to start if you're eager to get your hands on the sweet-meets-savory sensation.
