A n adult hockey game in Canada turned into a nightmare last week when one player decided to use his skate as a weapon during a massive on-ice brawl.

The incident took place July 29 in Burnaby during an Adult Safe Hockey League game, according to a report.

A fight broke out during the game and quickly escalated when one of the men involved in the brawl appeared to use his skate to kick another man in the face, according to footage of the incident posted to social media.

The victim falls to the ice and grabs his face, and more men jump on the man who did the kicking.

Eventually, referees were able to break up the fight, the report noted.

The victim received treatment for his injuries, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

"Burnaby RCMP [Royal Canadian Mounted Police] is continuing to investigate the circumstances and actions that led to the player’s injuries," authorities said.
