Ever wanted to see yourself in a video game? It's a thought that plenty of gamers will have dreamt of at some point in their lives, but what if we told you that you could get paid to 'work' in a game and receive £20,000?

And yes, when we say work, the commas are very much inverted.

We are selecting someone to be our vending machine refilling NPC in Train Sim World 2, available with Xbox Game Pass. Oh, and we are awarding £20K IRL! UK, FR & DE 18+. No employment offer/contract. Ends 06.07.22. See below ⬇ pic.twitter.com/Crss8i5F0Q

Pringles have launched the world's first paid job inside a video game; the game in question being Train Sim World 2 (TSW2) and the job is being a virtual vending machine refiller, only you don't have to lift a finger - your likeness will be used to create a virtual avatar acting as an NPC (non-playable character) in the game.

Created by Dovetail, TSW2 launched back in 2020 and allows players to climb into the engineer’s seat and take control of long freight halls, commuter traffic or high-speed services. Gamers can also get creative with custom liveries for locomotives and create new scenarios for featured routes.

Simulation games are one of the most popular niches in the entire industry and more than 3.6 million hours of Flight Simulator have been watched on Twitch alone. That being said, TSW2 is available now on Xbox Game Pass and is giving gamers all the more reason to get involved in the genre with this competition.

Anyone interested in applying for this dream 'job' needs to produce a creative video or image featuring a Pringles can explaining why they would make the best vending machine refiller NPC in under 50 words on Instagram and Twitter.

The post must include the hashtag #PringlesStayInTheGame and mention @Pringles.uk. People can also enter under campaign posts on Facebook and all posts must be made public in order to be eligible.

Applications for the role opened on June 20 and close on 6th July 2022, so you best get on it quick if you want to be in with a chance of winning the competition. Pringles will randomly select 50 candidates to go through to the shortlist and the winner will be judged on the creativity and originality of their post.

Not too bad as far as job interviews go and better still, you get to have yourself immortalised in an actual game. The runner-up will also receive a customised Xbox Series S as a consolation prize.

It goes without saying that while this is real money, it is not a real job and no offer of employment is being made, nor will the chosen winner receive any contract confirming a new role as a virtual vending machine refiller. T&Cs apply.
